What is vedic maths?

About vedic maths

Vedic Mathematics is the world’s easiest and simplest way to do maths. It is the name given to the ancient system of Indian Mathematics which was rediscovered from the Vedas between 1911 and 1918 by Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji (1884-1960).

Vedic Maths is a system of 16 Sutras or Word Formulae and 13 sub-sutras (Sub Formulae) which can be used for solving complex mathematical problems in a far simpler manner. It offers techniques and shortcuts to master numerical calculations within seconds. Using these techniques, it is possible to calculate 10-15 times faster than usual methods.

These formulae/sutras describe the way the mind naturally works and are therefore a great help in directing the student to the appropriate method of solution. The Sutras apply to and cover almost every branch of Mathematics.

Application of sutras saves a lot of time and effort in solving the problems, compared to the formal methods presently in vogue.

Though the solutions appear like magic, the applications of the sutras is perfectly logical and rational. Vedic Mathematics contributes towards skill development of learner and is a great subject to develop analytical and numerical skills which will take you a long way in your educational and employment journey.

How it helps you?

  1. It cultivates interest for numbers and eliminates the Math-phobia in students.
  2. It increases your speed and accuracy.
  3. It improves memory power along with concentration and visualization abilities.
  4. Sharpen your mind, increases mental agility and intelligence.
  5. The Sutras in Vedic mathematics can be related to natural mental functions such as completing a whole, noticing analogies, generalisation and so on.
  6. Not only does the system give many striking general and special methods, previously unknown to modern mathematics, but it is far more coherent and integrated as a system.
  7. Application of sutras saves a lot of time and effort in solving the problems, compared to the formal methods presently in vogue.
  8. Though the solutions appear like magic, the applications of the sutras are perfectly logical and rational.
  9. Vedic Mathematics contributes towards skill development of learner and is a great subject to develop analytical and numerical skills which will take you a long way in your educational and employment journey.
